Why do you guys try to be funny when real answers answers wanted?

Why do guys?I mean really,it is not cool.For eg.The other day I asked "How many Americans do think watch ?" Some of said "Count me in",Everybody but Stevie Wonder",some of you even led me to U.S population demographic site.I mean really?Of course I laughed what do you want me to say.But it is not gonna be funny anyways when answers are wanted.Also sometimes you critique the questioner for being stupid that he asked that.please just be realistic!
