I live in Omaha NE, and I want to go to NYU But I don't get anything about New York. Can some 1 plz help Me?

Explain everything you can like anything. Please! my parents don't approve of it as a good school. But it has ben my dream. Anyone answer but I would really want it from people who go there. I want to go to get a double major in Acting and in journalism. Anything would be helpful. Also, do you think it is worth it for what I want to do?
