Is there a risk in getting a medical marijuana card in Cali?

there are raids of the dispensaries.. and aside from that, i wonder if the record will be used against the patient later. so if i get a card for example, will the insurance companies come after me in 20 yrs if I need something and say I smoked pot therefore i deserve the ailment?and if the dispensary gets raided... will I be in danger from some crazy rogue cops/organizations? thanks.
